Importance of Exams

Passing exams is necessary for success in an actuarial career. The exam process is a path towards achieving an actuarial credential, and that credential is both a marker of career progress and a requirement to complete some actuarial tasks.

The exam process is extensive, and you will not be credentialed on your first day. However, you will need to pass several exams for your resume to be considered. Passing exams while in college provides several assurances to your future employer:

  • Aptitude: employers need their young actuaries to pass exams to be successful in the early stages of their careers. Showing that you are able to pass exams provides employers with some assurance that you can continue doing so in a full-time role.
